This is acute rehabilitation, which includes specialized programs for those suffering from:
Unlike Skilled Nursing Facilities, where doctor visits are only required once every 18 days and LPNs provide most of the care, the J.W. Sommer receives between 960 and 1,560 minutes of therapy a week, more than three times that required of Skilled Nursing Facilities. And, because of its location at North Alabama Shoals Hospital, all labs, X-rays, dialysis, respiratory treatments and pharmacy needs are on-site.
